A modern take on the classic octave fuzz effect. Soaring leads, synth-like timbres, echoes of ring mod, giant robot power chords, percussive stabs—all of these and more are available with deft manipulation of the HEAT knob and your own playing technique. MOSFET-powered input and output amplifiers give Augustus a responsive, dynamic feel, and a high impedance input buffer guarantees that Augustus will perform as advertised in any pedal chain. This isn't your dad's fuzz pedal.

The basic elements are: a wide gain range, an adjustable low end, a specially designed input buffer, and a MOSFET-based output buffer. The gain range spans from ragged crunch to blown out, bludgeoning fuzz—all while remaining musical. The low end can be tailored for any instrument across a range of musical styles, from doom metal to classic rock to noise rock.

Toasted is a semi-transparent, low-to-medium gain overdrive. Eschewing commonly used opamps and clipping diodes, the magic in Toasted comes from the natural overdrive of MOSFET gain stages set up like tube gain stages in an amplifier.

The Mandorla is a colored boost pedal, inspired by vintage treble boost pedals from the ‘60s, with some modern twists. The MOSFET gain stage at the heart of the Mandorla is set up to take full advantage of the delicious non-linearity inherent to MOSFETS for gobs of even order harmonic distortion without clipping to produce a sound not unlike old tweed-era tube amps—clean, but colored.

This is the same Augustus you know and love, with a limited edition twist. The black and gold faceplace actually uses a printed circuit board process, so the gold line art is actually a gold ENIG finish. The enclosure is finished in satisfyingly textured charcoal powder coat.

The Toasted Drive achieves amp-like overdrive through the fairly straightforward mechanism of being an overdriven amp in a small, handmade pedal.
